The idea is simple – a place to store stuff off your handlebars that is totally weather proof —as in submersiable—should you flip in your packraft while portaging that fast moving glacial creek with your bike. Likewise, if the rain gods decide to give it there best for a week straight, you still stand a chance of keeping your electronics dry.
The concept for the Yakataga pocket was hatched on a pioneering fatbike expedition along Alaska’s Lost Coast. We wanted to create a bag that could be used on the bike, but also be rigged to the deck of a packraft or other boat should you be so inclined. The Yakataga is the bikepacking worlds’ first ever submersiable handlebar bag for multi-sport bike adventures.
